  • Overcome Your Negative Emotions

    March 14, 2012

You can expect some sort of major trial and disappointment any time you go into business for yourself...that’s a given.

But, if you allow negativity to seep in...like a cancer...and fail to remain positive... you’re just inviting more of the doom and gloom into your mental processes and setting yourself up for failure.

I want to encourage you with something... as an entrepreneur... I’ve had many years to ponder over and get into my mindset. Anytime you encounter disappointments in your business...no matter what they are... you need to think about the opportunities present within those problems and not just focusing on the problems themselves.

I personally know people who’ve been in major life-altering accidents and had to go through major rehab to recover their normal body functions. What I’ve seen are the triumphant attitudes that tend to immerge when people begin to think in terms of overcoming their limitations as opposed to just accepting them. What’s true in their lives is just as true in your entrepreneurial pursuits.

By seeing each situation in our business as an opportunity and not a career ending problem, each of us can lift ourselves out of the negativity that is temporarily around us and overcome the challenges to our business dreams.

Difficult times are often there to stretch us and correct our course. If we let it, we can give into hopelessness and accept the fact that nothing will improve or change our situation. But, we also can overcome our negative thinking if we learn to see opportunities in the midst of disappointment.

Remember, negative thinking will drain you of all your creative energy and paralyze you from action. It will leave you bone dry emotionally and discourage you to the point of giving up.

Don’t give in to it. Have a plan in place and adjust your thought processes to nurture opportunities. Negative energy never has to control you.

Learn to focus on finding solutions...be an over comer of your limitations...and NEVER EVER give in to your negative emotions.
